Good

Very modern sounding. Very fitting with the description as well, perhaps a great art piece. Maybe tone down the dynamic on the first part Left hand (Bass). It's a little heavy, I think the accents are a great touch and in the right place, but it can overwhealm the melody at times. Good simple but fitting ending as well.

WingoWinston responds:

I think nearly every critic of my piece has mentioned the overwhelming left hand. I suppose if it was played at more of a forte than fortissimo it would balance the piece out a bit more but I really wanted people to hear the heavy accents on the left hand. I'll keep this in mind for future pieces though! Thanks for the review! :)

Enjoyable

Very subtle, very emotional, very well done. Congrats.

MrMusicalLion responds:

Thankyou :)

I like

I like. Very subtle but very well assembled background type music. Subtle melody, the strings are barely there but still loud enough to be noticed. Well done!

pftq responds:

Was aiming for that, thanks!

Very nice

Fantastic! Very nice use of pizzicato and rhythms. Also, very nice instrumentation. And, just to top it off, absolutely seamless and smooth looping. Very nice, very well done. It may be a little "Standard" but I'm pretty sure it's meant to be as such. Well done!

Tomppaah responds:

Thank you very much! ;)

A little work

Not bad all together, considering what you have to work with. I will say the whole piece doesn't really go with the original four notes that well. It's like you have a four not intro and then it goes into another area all together. The rhythm is good, but can get a little jumpy as a whole. And some of the progression seem a little, well, random. Not a bad draft, at all. But maybe a little bit more work was needed.

Tsham responds:

Thank you for your feedback! Constructive feedback is always welcome, and I'll keep what you said in mind when working on my next piece. :D

Not bad!

I love the melody. It's very obvious and stands out the right amount for such a piece. In all honesty, I think your harmony and it's progression could've been a little better, but that's the only real flaw. And, considering that that's completely a matter of personal opinion, that's hardly even considered a flaw. Overall, well done!

NordicHazard responds:

thanks, it's hard to catch the right opinion from every person. i guess it's a mather of taste.

Magnificent

One of my old Music Professors had a favorite saying that goes something like "Anything can be an instrument if you listen to it in the right context." I think this embodies that saying very well. The rain sample here is nothing short of another instrument in the ensemble, and you've done a great feat in showing it as so. Bravo to you sir. 10/10.

Troisnyx responds:

Thank you very much! ^_^ And by the way, it's ma'am, not sir.

Very good

I like! From a personal perspective, my main influence in terms of composition has been Koji Kondo and other Composers in the video game field. Therefore, a good bit of my work ends up sounding almost like it's taken right from a video game! I take this as a compliment, usually. That said, I can definitely say that this piece fits your description wonderfully! You captured the mood very well, especially in the harmonization. I think the melody might be a little forward, if it's supposed to be a "background" kind of thing. But that's not even a problem, really. So, like I said, well done!

JeffHeim responds:

That's a good point you make about how prominent the music is for its intended purpose. Perhaps a more atmospheric tone would work better in a village setting. Thank you for the review!

Well done

I like! It's very well done. I don't know if you have any theory background, but it seems so. Well put together, and I especially like the rhythms. The snare with the pizzicato is also a very nice sound. I'm interested to see where it goes.

WizMystery responds:

I have three years of theory background, entering my fourth year in IB.

I just had the idea of creating multiple sections exploring multiple musical languages. I have a Polytonal theme and I may stick a 12-tone section in for good measure.

Not bad

It definitely has it's own sound, which I mean in a good way. A unique sound isn't the easiest thing to come by these days. Has a very "raw" quality to it as well. Fairly well done, friend.

Doumaaa responds:

thank you thank you.. haha yeah it's reaally raw :) I was just having fun

My name is John Johnson (Yes, seriously) and I'm here to hopefully spread my music around and, most importantly, get some honest feedback on it. So, if anyone out there wants to comment, feel free. Though, if it's negative (which is fine) keep it clean.
